Jonathan Bonilla, MD is a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist specializing in minimally invasive, non-surgical therapy for cardiac and peripheral vascular disease (circulation problems outside the heart). He has advanced training in both complex coronary and peripheral vascular intervention, including chronic, lower limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI). Dr Bonilla is currently a member of the CLIF (Chronic Limb Ischemia Fighters) conference/organization and has been highly involved in cutting-edge research that has led to novel techniques for treating chronically ill patients.

Dr. Bonilla received his undergraduate degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. He continued to receive his Medical Degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr Bonilla continued to meet a Cardiovascular Disease (Cardiology) Fellowship, followed by an Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center, where he practiced for over a decade.

Dr Bonilla is Board-Certified in Cardiovascular Disease (Cardiology) and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Dr. Bonilla specializes in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases and conditions of the heart and peripheral vascular conditions affecting the blood vessels and the cardiovascular system. He is an experienced Cardiologist, trained in all aspects of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, advanced heart failure, and chronic venous conditions. He specializes in advanced and complex peripheral arterial disease and CLTI. Dr Bonilla advocates for preventative medicine, helping patients maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle while managing diseases that may occur along the way. Dr Bonilla is patient-centered, highly motivated to contribute to the local community, and dedicated to providing patients with the most efficient and up-to-date care. Dr Bonilla is bilingual and proficient in both English and Spanish.
