Dr. Rodney Franklin grew up in West Texas and graduated from Monahans High School in 1978. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Texas Tech University in 1981. From there, Dr. Franklin attended The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and received his MD degree in 1985. Dr. Franklin is Board Certified in Family Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Care, and Wound Care. In 2006, Dr. Franklin received his MBA from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.
Dr. Franklin founded Lubbock Family Medicine and is still very active in the growth and business development department. He is also active in the Mobile House calls division.
Dr. Franklin and his wife Sheri have three children, Robyn, Katy, and Austin. Robyn is a Nurse Practitioner, Katy is a Registered Dietitian, and Austin is studying cinematography at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. They have three grandchildren, Whitley, Abigail, and Sawyer. His hobbies include woodworking, bicycling, rollerblading, traveling, and playing with the grandchildren.
